Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Security Engineer for the AWS Customer Incident Response Team (CIRT). You will perform incident response operations, build threat detection, and automate security workflows at cloud scale, collaborating across teams and mentoring others.

You will engage with customers to deliver secure, scalable outcomes and help craft best practices in security operations and automation for diverse platforms and technologies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years scripting, programming and security code review experience (non-internship).
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM).
• Experience troubleshooting systems, analyzing logs, or automating tasks with CLI tools.
• Experience in security frameworks, incident response, secure infrastructure, or related areas.
• Knowledge of general AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee incident response operations.
• Earn trust of customer stakeholders before, during, and after security events.
• Contribute to teams building threat detection and incident response capabilities.
• Design, build, and deploy automation for security operations on AWS.
• Contribute to internal projects for new consulting engagement models.
• Create content such as automation tools, reference architectures, and white papers.
• Translate ideas into actionable results to innovate for customers.
• Mentor consultants, partners, and customers to raise performance.
• On-call required.
