Job summary

Suncorp Group is seeking a seasoned Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate resilient cloud platforms using AWS and Terraform. You’ll lead automation, CI/CD pipelines, and platform capabilities from design to production, collaborating with Tech Leads, Product Owners, and Delivery Managers to deliver strategic initiatives.

You will work in a collaborative environment, shaping scalable solutions, and enhancing operational efficiency, reliability, and cost outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a large corporate/enterprise environment, in Platform/Systems engineering.
• Strong AWS platform engineering experience across SaaS/PaaS/IaaS; AWS certs are highly regarded.
• Proven Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform to provision and optimize cloud platforms at scale.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines with Python and Ansible.
• Hands-on container orchestration in Kubernetes/OpenShift/Docker with deployment and ops practices.
• Solid Linux administration knowledge, preferably Red Hat, with observability/monitoring tools.
• Interest in AI-assisted engineering tools and modern automation practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance cloud platform solutions aligned with long-term architecture and scalable services.
• Lead platform capabilities from design through production with quality docs and readiness.
• Identify and deliver automation to improve performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Build and maintain CI/CD capabilities for secure and efficient delivery of services.
• Collaborate with Tech Leads, PO, and Delivery Managers on strategic initiatives using Agile methods.
• Share knowledge and foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
