Job summary

Novon in Sydney seeks a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build and operate the AWS-based data platform supporting complex data solutions for large enterprises.

You will implement infrastructure as code with Terraform across serverless and container environments, develop CI/CD pipelines, ensure security and governance, and collaborate with Data Engineers to deliver scalable, observable cloud systems.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating AWS platforms for data or enterprise apps.
• Strong Terraform IaC experience.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins).
• Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Argo.
• Secure cloud deployments with IAM and networking controls.
• Observability and monitoring excellence.
• Experience in enterprise/cloud engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate the AWS platform supporting our client's modern Enterprise Data Platform.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform across AWS serverless environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure and application deployments.
• Implement secure, repeatable deployment processes that align with governance requirements.
• Support Kubernetes-based platform components while focusing on AWS services.
• Build reusable platform components that enable Data Engineers to deliver data products efficiently.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, security, and observability through automation.

We are currently seeking multiple experienced Senior Cloud Platform Engineers (AWS) to join our growing Data Practice and support a major data transformation program within a leading financial services organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate the AWS platform supporting our client's modern Enterprise Data Platform.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform across AWS serverless environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure and application deployments.
• Implement secure, repeatable deployment processes that align with banking governance and compliance requirements.
• Support Kubernetes-based platform components where required while focusing primarily on AWS cloud services.
• Build reusable platform components that enable Data Engineers to deliver data products efficiently.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, security, and observability through automation and engineering best practices.
• Partner with Data Engineering teams to enable seamless deployment of modern data solutions.
