Job summary

Experian PLC is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to support a secure, scalable Azure environment across Australia and New Zealand. You will enable engineering teams to deploy efficiently while maintaining high availability and security.

You will implement DevOps, build pipelines, and manage IaC, networking, and cost optimization. The role offers hybrid work arrangements and a strong focus on best practices and documentation.

Qualifications

• Mandatory tertiary degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on Azure experience with cloud engineering focus.
• Proven experience with Terraform and IaC.
• Knowledge of network security groups and Entra ID.
• Azure Storage experience and cost management skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evolve DevOps practices including CI/CD and IaC.
• Develop and support cloud solutions, pipelines, VMs and PaaS.
• Assess and remediate security vulnerabilities while aligning with standards.
• Manage cloud networking configurations (NSGs, VNets, subnets, firewall rules).
• Lead cross-team efforts for reliability, consistency and improvements.
• Monitor cloud usage and optimize costs through right-sizing.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation.
• Ensure platforms meet availability, performance and SLAs.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to support and evolve a secure, scalable cloud environment powering mission-critical financial services applications across Australia and New Zealand. You will play an important part in delivering reliable, high-performing Azure solutions while allowing engineering teams to deploy efficiently. This role reports to Cloud Platform Manager

What You'll Do

• Implement and maintain DevOps practices, including Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), to refine deployments.
• Develop, and support cloud solutions, including deployment pipelines, automation, virtual machines, and PaaS services.
• Assess security vulnerabilities, ensuring understanding of security standards.
• Manage and apply cloud network configurations, including Network Security Groups, virtual networks, subnets, and firewall rules.
• Collaborate with teams to lead consistency, reliability, and continuous improvement across environments.
• Monitor and improve cloud usage and costs through efficient provisioning and right-sizing of resources.
• Maintain clear and up-to-date technical documentation for processes.
• Ensure cloud platforms meet availability, performance, and service level requirements.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

• At least 7+ years of experience working in Microsoft Azure
• Intermediate to experience of Azure including Terraform, Network Security Groups, Entra ID, and Azure Storage.
• Desirable, but not essential: Experience working with Checkpoint firewalls.
• Mandatory:Holds a tertiary education degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• At least one of the below certifications:
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• At least one of the below certifications:
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
