Job summary

Red Energy is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Melbourne. You will help design, deliver, and maintain cloud services powering retail operations, bridging technology and business to ensure secure, scalable, and highly available information systems.

Work involves modern toolsets across on-prem and cloud environments, with emphasis on automation and agile methodologies to lift digital maturity.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
Proficient with Linux (Redhat/Ubuntu), CLI, and Shell Scripting.
Strong knowledge of OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.
Proven GitLab/GitOps and CI/CD pipelines experience (ArgoCD).
Strong Azure expertise with Terraform for IaC.
Experience with OpenTelemetry and Grafana Cloud.
Solid understanding of networking, SDN routing and micro‑segmentation.
Experience with GCP or other cloud services is advantageous.
Familiarity with CloudFlare WAF/Proxy services.

Responsibilities

Identify, design, and deliver cloud-based IT services aligned with technology vision.
Maintain security posture and regulatory compliance for new software.
Adopt agile approaches to infrastructure delivering quality systems.
Liaise with stakeholders and T&D to maximise availability of critical systems.
Manage and evolve CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, ArgoCD and related tools.
Monitor and optimise cloud platforms for performance and security.
Build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
