Job summary

Talent Corp in Geelong, Australia, seeks an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of a secure, scalable AWS landing zone as part of a hybrid and multi-cloud strategy for a large government body.

This is a senior, hands-on role requiring delivery of enterprise AWS landing zones and automation of account provisioning, governance and security patterns, while collaborating with security, networking, and delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Significant recent AWS enterprise landing zone experience, including multi-account setups.
• Experience delivering in government or other regulated environments is preferred.
• AWS Solutions Architect - Professional certification is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end AWS landing zone architecture and implementation roadmap.
• Design the AWS Organizations, Control Tower, account and OU structure.
• Establish automated account provisioning and workload onboarding.
• Define identity, networking, security, logging and monitoring patterns.
• Develop Terraform modules and Git-based CI/CD practices.
• Embed governance, guardrails and policy-as-code.
• Lead technical assurance and transition the platform into operations.
• Collaborate with security, network, identity, platform and delivery teams.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of a secure, scalable AWS landing zone as part of a broader hybrid and multi-cloud strategy for a large government body.

This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who has personally delivered enterprise AWS multi-account landing zones-not just provided high-level architecture advice.

Key activities

• Own the end-to-end AWS landing zone architecture and implementation roadmap
• Design the AWS Organizations, Control Tower, account and organisational unit structure
• Establish automated account provisioning and workload onboarding
• Define identity, networking, security, logging and monitoring patterns
• Develop reusable Terraform modules and Git-based CI/CD practices
• Embed governance, guardrails, policy-as-code and FinOps controls
• Lead technical assurance and transition the platform into operations
• Work closely with security, network, identity, platform and delivery teams

Skills and experience

• Significant recent AWS architecture and engineering experience
• Personal leadership of at least two enterprise AWS landing zone implementations
• Experience delivering within government, financial services, insurance, health or another regulated environment
• Deep knowledge of AWS Organizations, Control Tower, account vending and service control policies
• Strong Terraform, automation, Git and CI/CD capability
• Advanced enterprise networking and cloud security knowledge
• Strong stakeholder leadership and communication skills

AWS Solutions Architect - Professional certification and experience with Entra ID, SIEM platforms, Account Factory for Terraform, ISM, Essential Eight, VPDSF, ISO 27001 or NIST CSF will be highly regarded.
