Job summary

Informatech Pty Ltd in Canberra is seeking a hands-on Azure Cloud Architect to join a Federal Government engagement. You will design, document and build Azure solutions, set technical direction and lead a team of cloud engineers.

You’ll work within an established landing zone, drive integration with on‑prem systems, and advance DevOps toolchains. Australian citizenship and NV1+ clearance are required, with secure cloud architectures delivered.

Qualifications

• Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS expertise.
• 5+ years in cloud architecture and delivery roles.
• Strong GitOps, DevOps and IaC experience.
• Hybrid networking and API integration experience.
• Australian citizenship and NV1+ clearance.
• Understanding of ASD ISM and Privacy Act security controls.

Responsibilities

• Designing, documenting and building Azure solutions that support multiple projects.
• Leading and supporting a team of cloud engineers, and contributing to the build.
• Working within the established landing zone architecture and shaping its future development.
• Collaborating with developers to deploy applications on Azure.
• Designing and delivering hybrid integration, including networks and APIs to connect to on-premises systems.
• Managing infrastructure as a software product using GitOps practices and improving the DevOps toolchain.

Informatech is a 100% Australian-owned ICT consultancy delivering Testing Services, Technical Services, Project Delivery and Cyber Security. We’re looking for a hands-on Azure Cloud Architect to join a Federal Government engagement in Canberra.

The platform’s landing zone is already established. Your job is to take it further: designing and documenting solutions, then building them alongside a team of talented cloud engineers. You’ll set technical direction, support the team’s delivery, and roll up your sleeves when it counts.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing, documenting and building Azure solutions that support a range of projects and workloads
• Leading and supporting a team of cloud engineers, and contributing directly to the build
• Working within the established landing zone architecture and helping shape its future development
• Working with developers to build and deploy applications on Azure
• Designing and delivering hybrid integration, including hybrid networks and APIs that connect to on-premises systems
• Managing infrastructure as a software product using GitOps practices
• Developing and improving the DevOps toolchain

What you’ll bring

• Deep Azure expertise across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
• Strong GitOps, Infrastructure as Code and DevOps engineering experience
• Hybrid networking and API integration experience
• Solid understanding of cloud security and compliance (e.g. ASD ISM, Privacy Act)
• At least 5 years in cloud architecture and technical delivery roles
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert and/or CCSP certification (or equivalent)
• Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Highly regarded

• Microsoft Fabric and data platform experience
• Previous Australian Federal Government experience
• Experience with containerisation and microservices (Docker, Kubernetes)

Security clearance:

Candidates must be an Australian Citizen and hold an Australian Government security clearance NV1 or higher.
