Join SALHN as our next Clinical Trials Coordinator

Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) are looking for a Clinical Trials Coordinator to join their research team on a full-time 12 month contract. You'll take day-to-day ownership of allocated clinical trials - managing patient and trial databases, supporting trial-related finances, and performing a range of scientific and clinical research tasks that keep studies running smoothly and to protocol.

About the role:
  • Draw on your scientific expertise to analyse, interpret, and report clinical trial data with accuracy and rigour - Delivering findings and statistics to the Clinical Trials Unit Director and other relevant parties in a timely and meaningful way
  • Coordinate and prioritise the clinical needs of trial participants across multiple active studies, ensuring their care requirements are met in a way that is consistent with SALHN's Integrated Governance and Consumer Engagement frameworks.
  • Coordinate allocated research studies from activation to close-out stages, including research management and administrative tasks under minimum guidance of HRM and Senior Study coordinator
  • Play an active role in advancing the unit's research profile by contributing to the preparation of data for publication, supporting the writing and submission of research papers, and presenting findings at both internal team forums and external meetings of scientific relevance
  • Engage in research and development projects relevant to the Clinical Trials Unit, participating in activities that deepen your scientific capabilities and contribute to the ongoing growth and quality of the services the unit provides
About you:
  • You bring previous experience in a haematology or oncology setting and have developed practical, hands-on knowledge of clinical trials processes - from participant recruitment and protocol adherence through to data management and regulatory compliance
  • You are competent in venepuncture and the processing of biological specimens, including bloods, and are comfortable performing these tasks as a routine part of supporting trial participant care within a clinical environment
  • Experience in working as a part of complex multidisciplinary team structures in a hospital setting. And have contributed meaningfully to team-based patient care, understanding how coordinated clinical and research efforts translate into better outcomes for participants
  • You communicate clearly and confidently in both written and verbal forms, whether corresponding with sponsors, preparing trial documentation or engaging with clinical staff and participants - You will bring the analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • A Bachelor Degree in Applied Science, Science, or equivalent is required for this role

Please note that this position is multi-classed as either a MES1 or MES2 and classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.
