Job summary

Gold Coast Lung and Sleep Clinic in Southport, QLD, seeks a Clinical Support Assistant – Medical Reception, CPAP & Lung Function for a casual position. Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical reception or healthcare administrative roles.
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in CPAP management or respiratory care.
• Ability to work with lung function testing equipment or willingness to be trained.
• Excellent communication skills with patients and clinical staff.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in using medical practice management software and general computer systems.
• Understanding of patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Compassionate approach to patient care and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Relevant qualifications in medical administration, healthcare support or similar field (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Providing professional medical reception services, including greeting patients, managing appointments, processing registrations and maintaining accurate patient records.
• Supporting CPAP programme administration, including patient education on device usage, troubleshooting guidance and liaison with patients regarding equipment and compliance.
• Assisting with lung function testing procedures, including spirometry and other respiratory assessments under clinical supervision.
• Preparing clinical spaces and equipment for patient appointments and testing sessions.
• Scheduling patient appointments efficiently and managing the clinic diary.
• Collecting patient payments and processing billing information.
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all privacy and health information regulations.
• Providing administrative support to clinical staff and contributing to a welcoming patient environment.
• Supporting infection control protocols and general clinic housekeeping standards.

Gold Coast Lung and Sleep Clinic is seeking a Clinical Support Assistant – Medical Reception, CPAP & Lung Function to join our dynamic healthcare team. This is a casual position based in Southport, QLD, offering flexibility whilst providing essential support across multiple clinical functions. You will play a vital role in ensuring our clinic operates smoothly, supporting both patients and clinical staff in delivering high-quality respiratory and sleep medicine care. This position is integral to maintaining the efficiency of our reception services, CPAP management programmes and lung function testing facilities.

Key responsibilities

Providing professional medical reception services, including greeting patients, managing appointments, processing registrations and maintaining accurate patient records

Supporting CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) programme administration, including patient education on device usage, troubleshooting guidance and liaison with patients regarding equipment and compliance

Assisting with lung function testing procedures, including spirometry and other respiratory assessments under clinical supervision

Preparing clinical spaces and equipment for patient appointments and testing sessions

Scheduling patient appointments efficiently and managing the clinic diary

Collecting patient payments and processing billing information

Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all privacy and health information regulations

Providing administrative support to clinical staff and contributing to a welcoming patient environment

What we're looking for
