Job summary

UniSC seeks a Clinical Practice Educator, Nutrition and Dietetics to deliver high-quality clinical education and supervise students in UniSC nutrition and dietetics clinics, including simulated and telehealth settings. You will collaborate with the Clinical Education team to maintain strong industry relationships and contribute to scholarly activity.

The Opportunity

As a Clinical Practice Educator, Nutrition and Dietetics, you will use your professional experience as a dietitian and expertise in clinical education to deliver high-quality, evidence-based learning experiences that prepare students for successful professional practice. With a particular focus on student supervision within the UniSC nutrition and dietetics clinics, you will support and monitor student progress, provide meaningful feedback and contribute to simulated, telehealth, internal and external placement experiences.

Working collaboratively with the Nutrition and Dietetics Clinical Education team, you will build and maintain strong relationships with clinical and industry partners, contribute to scholarship and professional development, and support continuous quality improvement across the UniSC clinics.

You will:

• deliver high-quality clinical education and supervision across simulated, telehealth, internal and external placement settings, supporting student learning, assessment and success;
• build and maintain productive relationships with clinical, industry, community and professional partners, while contributing to the continuous improvement of clinical education and the UniSC clinics; and
• contribute to scholarship, professional development, academic activities and a positive, inclusive and collegial environment for students and colleagues.

About you

You are an experienced and passionate dietitian with a strong commitment to clinical education and developing the next generation of nutrition and dietetics professionals. You bring demonstrated experience in clinical practice, student supervision and the delivery of engaging learning experiences, with the ability to support students to build their clinical skills, professional capabilities and confidence.

You are a collaborative and effective communicator who builds strong relationships with students, colleagues and external partners. With a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development, you will contribute positively to a collegial academic environment and help strengthen the connection between university learning and contemporary professional practice.

You will possess:

• A completed or near-completed PhD in a relevant field, or equivalent accreditation and standing, or a minimum of ten years' clinical experience as an accredited professional in the field;
• Current Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status recognised by Dietitians Australia, with experience managing the nutrition care process for individual clients/patients;
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and clinical supervision, with experience supporting undergraduate students across simulated, telehealth, internal and/or external placement settings;
• Established professional, industry and/or community networks, with demonstrated experience developing productive partnerships;
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated commitment to a positive and collegial academic environment; and
• Evidence of ongoing professional and academic development, with a commitment to continuous improvement in clinical education and practice.
