Job summary

Victoria University seeks a part-time Clinical Placements Officer to coordinate student placements in the Clinical Psychology program and support the student experience at the VU Psychology Clinic. The role works within the postgraduate psychology course team to organise documentation, databases, and liaison with agencies across Victoria.

You must hold a Masters in Clinical Psychology, be registered as a Psychologist, and demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Hold a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology with at least four years’ relevant experience, or extensive relevant experience and training.
• Be registered as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia; endorsement as clinical psychologist preferred.
• Demonstrate independent and collaborative work ability with strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, including report writing and liaison with organisations.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, coordinate and manage administrative systems for student placements in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain placement databases with agency, student and staff records.
• Prepare and distribute placement documentation, including manuals and learning contracts.
• Liaise with clinical and community agencies across Victoria to facilitate placements and document learning outcomes.
• Monitor and report student progress and competency, including site visits and reviews.
• Support students with learning needs and placement matters and assist with supervision where appropriate.
• Ensure completion of mandatory checks and placement documentation in line with accreditation requirements.
• Provide high‑level administrative support to Psychology disciplines in clinical training and contribute to policy improvements.
