Job summary

NSW Health in Sydney is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to support Ward 4A at Northern Beaches Hospital on a part-time basis (24 hours per week). You will lead, coach and assess nursing staff, delivering structured learning and professional development to strengthen patient care.

Under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will coordinate orientation, skill accreditation, and mandatory training, travel to NSLHD sites as required and contribute to stroke care

• Registered Nurse - Division 1 with AHPRA.
• Post-registration qualifications or clinical/educational experience.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Support and develop nursing staff on Ward 4A at Northern Beaches Hospital.

What you'll be doing

Exciting opportunity to support and develop the nursing staff on Ward 4A at Northern Beaches Hospital on a part time basis, 3 days per week.

The Stroke Coordinator will be guided by the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant in leading, developing, co-ordinated and implementing all structured learning for nurses within NSLHD. They will provide clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation and professional development support for all nursing staff and students. The role will be involved in the provision of hospital orientation and mandatory training and is expected to teach in courses appropriate to nursing within and at facilities external to NSLHD.

The Stroke Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating the implementation, coordination and evaluation of best practise stroke care to the patients at in conjunction with the Stroke &Rehabilitation staff. This includes the coordination of the patient’s care through Acute Services, the initiation and participation in stroke service quality improvement and implementation of stroke education to acute and rehabilitation teams.

The Stroke Coordinator will participate in the development and teaching of the NSLHD Nursing Professional Development Program (this includes travelling to other sites within the LHD for lecturing and facilitation of workshops).

• Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Holds extensive relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
