Job summary

NSW Health's Neurosurgery unit 7D seeks a Registered Nurse to lead education as Clinical Nurse Educator in a 30-bed unit. The role provides clinical leadership, education, and support to nursing staff on the ward.

The position is temporary part-time (14 hours/week) until 9 December 2027, with potential for ongoing employment. Nurses must be registered with AHPRA and meet education/experience criteria.

Qualifications

• Holds AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse and holds relevant post-registration clinical or education qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and education as Clinical Nurse Educator for the Neurosurgery team.
• Support education initiatives and evidence-based practice within the ward.

Do you have a passion for education? The Neurosurgery team on 7D is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide clinical leadership in the role of Clinical Nurse Educator.

7D is a 30 bed acute Neurosurgical ward which includes a 4 bed Neurosurgical Step Down Unit (NSDU). We are a tertiary referral centre for neurosurgical referrals across the Northern Sydney and Central Coast Local Health Districts. We offer a state wide spinal injury service and provide a quaternary referral centre for specialised cerebrovascular conditions. We care for patients with neuro oncology, cerebrovascular, neuro infective, peripheral nerve, spine and traumatic brain conditions. We have many resources in senior nursing support including a NUM, 2 neurosurgical nurse practitioners and a neuroscience CNC.
