Job summary

Queensland Government seeks an experienced midwife to provide expert clinical care for women and babies across a range of conditions in Brisbane. The role supports safe practice through leadership, role modelling and evidence-based care, with emphasis on education and guidance for staff.

The successful applicant will apply advanced midwifery expertise, deliver woman and baby centred care, and mentor Registered Nurses, Midwives and non-registered staff in complex situations within Metro North

Qualifications

• Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
• Apply advanced clinical midwifery expertise to deliver high standard of woman and baby centred care.
• Respond to and provide support and direction to manage sudden alterations in health status of the woman and baby using advanced midwifery assessment and intervention skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical midwifery care across a range of conditions for women and babies.
• Lead, role model and educate staff to support safe, evidence-based practice.
• Support and direct Registered Nurses, Midwives and non-registered staff in complex situations.
• Contribute to portfolio management and clinical guidance within Metro North Health.
