Job summary

Social Futures is seeking an experienced Clinical Manager to lead the Care Connect aftercare program across Central Coast, Greater Newcastle, Upper Hunter and Manning regions. Based in Charlestown or Gosford, you will guide a multidisciplinary team and ensure high-quality, recovery‑oriented psychosocial supports for people experiencing suicidal crises.

You will oversee clinical governance, collaborate with Local Health Districts and community organisations, and participate in leadership

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in psychology, mental health nursing or social work.
• Current professional registration (AHPRA/AASW) is required.
• Minimum four years’ experience in a clinical mental health setting.
• At least two years’ experience leading a mental health/suicide aftercare program.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Clinical Manager to guide our teams in our Universal Aftercare program - Care Connect across the Central Coast, Greater Newcastle, Upper Hunter and Manning regions. You can be based in Charlestown or Gosford - pool car available for travel between the program regions.

Care Connect is a non-clinical support service focused on providing psychosocial support to people experiencing a suicidal crisis or who have attempted suicide. The service is designed to increase access and engagement with care to prevent further suicidal behaviour and/or self-harm.

This role is a great opportunity to expand your leadership and supervision skills. As a leader at Social Futures, you will have access to a mentoring program and receive regular coaching sessions to enhance your skill set.

What you'll be doing

• Guide and support the Care Connect program in the Central Coast, Greater Newcastle and Manning regions to improve the care and support received by people after a suicide attempt
• Lead an established and dedicated team in providing best-practice psychosocial supports
• Guide exceptional clinical governance across the Care Connect program
• Expand your network by collaborating with the Local Health Districts (LHD) and a range of community-based organisations

What we're looking for

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, i.e. psychology, mental health nursing or social work (with mental health accreditation) and relevant professional registration e.g. AHPRA, AASW.
• At least four years’ experience in a clinical mental health setting
• At least two years’ experience in leading a mental health / suicide aftercare program and work force
• Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable people and an understanding of recovery principles to guide a team providing high quality, customer-centered supports
• Outstanding relationship, negotiation and conflict management skills
• A high level of organizational, time management and administrative skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated experience in establishing and building stakeholder relationships and an understanding of the community services landscape across the identified service regions
