Job description

Gladstone Hospital is a busy, community-focused 70-bed hospital with around 282 staff, delivering everything from Emergency and Surgery to Maternity, Paediatrics, Mental Health and Allied Health. As our Clinical Director Support Officer, you’ll be at the heart of the action — supporting medical recruitment and onboarding, mastering rosters, coordinating travel and meetings, keeping admin on track and being the go-to support for the Clinical Director and wider team. We’re looking for someone organised, confident and calm under pressure who loves solving problems, juggling priorities and making things happen. If you’re a people person with strong admin skills and a can-do attitude, we’d love to hear from you!

About us

Gladstone Hospital is a 70-bed hospital providing a wide range of emergency, medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric and specialist care to the Gladstone community and beyond.

With around 282 full-time equivalent staff, our teams deliver care across acute, community and primary health services. Each year, we welcome around 500 babies and perform approximately 1,600 surgical procedures across our two operating theatres.

Our services include Emergency, General Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Maternity, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, High Dependency and Coronary Care, Palliative Care, Imaging and Pathology, plus Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Allied Health and community outreach services.

About the role
  • Keep things running smoothly. Support medical recruitment, onboarding and admin, making sure new doctors have everything they need to hit the ground running.
  • Master the rosters. Prepare and manage fortnightly medical rosters, keeping staffing covered, compliant and payroll ready.
  • Make the magic happen. Coordinate travel, meetings, diaries, correspondence, records and expenses — basically, keep the details under control!
  • Be the go-to. Support the Clinical Director and wider team, manage requests, assist with projects and research, and liaise with staff at all levels with professionalism and a can-do attitude.
About you
  • Medical terminology, HR or rostering experience? Fantastic! Experience in a busy healthcare environment is a big plus.
  • You’re a whiz with admin, Microsoft Office and new systems — and can quickly get your head around hospital software.
  • Can work independently, juggle competing priorities, solve problems and keep deadlines on track without breaking a sweat.
  • Communicate with confidence, tact and discretion, build great relationships and know how to deliver a friendly, professional service.
What we offer

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $4,316 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $41.17 - $45.79 p.h.
