Job summary

Gold Coast Health invites applications for a Clinical Coder to join the Digital Health and Innovation team on the Gold Coast. You will assign ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes, perform DRG grouping and ensure data integrity across the clinical information systems.

Your role includes education, evaluation, and auditing activities to improve coding quality and compliance with national standards. Completion of a Diploma in Clinical Coding or a related Bachelor is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Diploma in Clinical Coding, or alternatively a related Bachelor is Mandatory
• Clinical coding experience in hospital/healthcare settings is desirable
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees

Responsibilities

• Abstract relevant information from the electronic patient record and other clinical information systems
• Liaise with the Clinical Coding Educator or Liaison
• Assign ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes and perform DRG grouping per standards within timeframes
• Participate in education, evaluation and auditing activities within the Coding Service
