Job summary

Gold Coast Health is seeking a Clinical Coding Auditor to drive coding accuracy and support education across the Clinical Coding Services. You will participate in audits, mentor staff, and help improve coding systems and procedures, leveraging your advanced expertise across specialties.

The role requires a Diploma in Clinical Coding or a Health Information Management degree, a Certificate in Advanced Clinical Coding, and at least two years of hospital coding experience, with strong auditing

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Clinical Coding or Health Information Management degree is mandatory.
  • Certificate in Advanced Clinical Coding is mandatory.
  • Minimum two years clinical coding experience in hospital/healthcare setting.
  • Specialist Certificate in Auditing would be well regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in education, evaluation and auditing programs for Clinical Coding.
  • Complete Queensland Cancer Registry notifications and EVA error reviews.
  • Code highly complex cases and mentor less experienced coders.
  • Identify needs for improvement in systems, procedures and strategies and drive changes.
  • Utilise strong interpersonal and communication skills in audits and education.

We also have a key role to play in research and innovation, in that our responsibilities will also include bringing external insight into the organisation for improvement.About Your New RoleIn this role as the Clinical Coding Auditor, you will actively participate in quality and audit activities that drive service improvement and coding excellence.
