Job summary

About the opportunityAn exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Clinical Coder to join the Clinical Coding team at Townsville Hospital and Health Service. The purpose of this role will be to provide timely and accurate coding of inpatient episodes of care. This involves accurate abstraction of relevant information from the integrated electronic medical record (ieMR) and other associated clinical information systems, and assignment of accurate codes in accordance with the Australian Coding Standards.Flexible working arrangements are available, including working remotely for Queensland applicants only.PLEASE NOTE - This is a permanent full-time role.About the DepartmentClinical Information Services is responsible for the management of clinical information across Townsville Hospital and Health Service. Areas of responsibility include Clinical Coding, Medical Records, Release of Information, Data Quality, 7 Day Service, Information Management and Information Privacy.Clinical Coding Unit is responsible for coding all inpatient separations for all hospitals within Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
