Job summary

Uniting ACT is seeking a compassionate Clinician Level 1 for the TIDES ACT program in Turner, ACT. You’ll handle intake, assessment, service navigation, and clinical case coordination for young people and families affected by trauma.

The role is full-time, hybrid, with hourly rates $45.53–$48.43 plus salary packaging benefits up to $18,550. You’ll work within an interdisciplinary team and contribute to trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level qualifications in psychology, social work, counselling, OT or related mental health discipline.
• Full registration with the relevant professional body (APHRA, PACFA, or eligibility for AASW).
• Experience in intake, assessment and/or clinical case coordination.
• Strong communication and engagement skills.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team with trauma-informed practice.

Join TIDES (Trauma Intervention, Development and Emotional Support) ACT, a specialised trauma-informed youth mental health service supporting young people and families across the ACT.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing and innovative service designed to address a significant gap in youth mental health support. You will work alongside an interdisciplinary team to provide intake, assessment, service navigation, group facilitation, and clinical case coordination.

About the Program

TIDES is a trauma-informed youth mental health service providing interdisciplinary support to young people and their families affected by complex trauma.

The service focuses on building safety, wellbeing and recovery through trauma-informed care, evidence-based trauma interventions and integrated practice. Young people are supported with choice and autonomy, while receiving tailored and developmentally appropriate care.

As a member of the TIDES team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and development of a pioneering service that is helping to shape how trauma support is delivered to young people in the ACT.

What You’ll Do

• Respond to referrals and complete intake and assessment activities.
• Monitor the service inbox and respond to phone enquiries.
• Provide service navigation and connect young people with appropriate supports.
• Provide clinical case coordination for a small caseload of young people clients.
• Facilitate group programs and psychoeducational activities.
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.
• Liaise with young people, families and internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to reporting, documentation and quality service delivery.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment.

About you

You’re a compassionate, organised and collaborative clinician who is confident working with young people and understands trauma-informed practice.

You will bring:

• Relevant qualifications in psychology, social work, counselling, occupational therapy or a related mental health discipline.
• Full registration with relevant professional body (such as APHRA / PACFA or eligibility for membership with the AASW.)
• Experience in intake, assessment and/or clinical case coordination.
• Strong communication and engagement and relationship building skills.
• Experience in facilitating group programs.
• The ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Experience working with young people experiencing complex trauma, mental health concerns or psychosocial challenges.
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A genuine commitment to supporting young people to achieve their goals and access the right supports at the right time.
• A current Australian driver’s licence – mandatory for this role.
