Job summary

Keegan Adams Recruitment is seeking a Trade Management & Client Reporting Analyst to join an established funds management business in Melbourne. This 6 Month FTC role offers exposure across the full trade lifecycle, trade management, client reporting and operational projects.

Reporting to the Senior Investment Operations Analyst, you will manage trade instructions, monitor settlements and prepare client reports while liaising with custodians and brokers.

Qualifications

• Experience in investment operations, middle/back office or client services.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficient in Excel and large data sets.
• Familiarity with AML/KYC processes and onboarding documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage trade instructions across investment managers and custodians.
• Monitor trade settlement and investigate unmatched or failed trades.
• Identify and resolve portfolio, trade and pricing exceptions.
• Liaise with custodians, brokers and internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues.
• Support onboarding and offboarding of investment products, including broker and custody arrangements.
• Complete broker AML/KYC requirements and account-opening documentation.
• Prepare and deliver daily, monthly and ad hoc portfolio and client reports.
• Prepare quantitative data for ratings reviews and due diligence requests.
• Provide operational support to Fund Accountants and the wider investment operations team.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and operational efficiency.
• Participate in operational projects and system/process enhancements.

The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a Trade Management & Client Reporting Analyst to join an established funds management business.

Reporting to the Senior Investment Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of trading activities and client reporting across a range of managed investment schemes and investment mandates.

This is a broad investment operations position offering exposure across the full trade lifecycle, portfolio reporting, custodians, investment managers and operational projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Manage trade instructions across investment managers and custodians through relevant order management systems


• Monitor trade settlement and investigate unmatched or failed trades


• Identify and resolve portfolio, trade and pricing exceptions


• Liaise with custodians, brokers and internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues


• Support the onboarding and offboarding of investment products, including broker and custody arrangements


• Complete broker AML/KYC requirements and account-opening documentation

About You

You will ideally have previous experience within investment or funds management, gained in an Investment Operations, Middle Office, Back Office or Client Services environment.

You will also bring:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, business, economics or a related discipline


• An understanding of the investment trading lifecycle


• Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving capabilities
  
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of financial data
  
• Exposure to portfolio and order management systems such as Eze Software, Bloomberg, IRESS/IOS or similar
  
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• The ability to build effective relationships with investment managers, custodians, brokers and clients
  
• An understanding of relevant financial services regulatory and compliance requirements
  
• The ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
