Job summary

The Willows Private Nursing Home – Ashfield NSW

As a Cleaning and Laundry Assistant at The Willows Private Nursing Home, you will help maintain a clean, hygienic and comfortable environment for our residents. Your attention to detail and care when handling residents' personal belongings will support their dignity, wellbeing and everyday comfort.

Key responsibilities

Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms, communal areas and other designated spaces according to cleaning schedules and infection prevention procedures.

Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold and return clothing and linen, taking care with residents' personal items.

Handle soiled linen and waste safely, following facility procedures.

Use cleaning products, laundry equipment and personal protective equipment safely and correctly.

Maintain supplies and report maintenance issues, hazards or damaged equipment promptly.

Work respectfully around residents' routines, privacy and preferences, and communicate with the wider team.

About you

Previous cleaning or laundry experience, preferably in aged care, health care or a similar setting.

An understanding of hygiene, infection prevention and safe chemical handling, or a willingness to learn.

Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

The ability to follow instructions, cleaning schedules and safe work procedures.

A respectful approach to older people, including residents living with dementia.

The ability to safely undertake the practical duties of the role.

Willingness to complete required pre-employment screening and meet the facility's current employment requirements.
