Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cleaner and laundry assistant in an aged care facility.
• Good organisation and time management skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning products and the safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals.
• Good communication skills, including a caring and compassionate manner when interacting with customers and their representatives.
• A commitment to Workplace Health & Safety and ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff.
• Ability to build and fosters strong working relationships and work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide a timely and efficient cleaning and laundry service that is responsive to the needs of residents and facility operations.
• Ensure that the cleaning and laundry service is conducted in a way that is safe to staff and residents and complies with Workplace Health & Safety legislation including safe use of chemicals.
• Ensure a high standard of customer service when interacting with residents, resident representatives and staff.

About the role

The Cleaner and Laundry Assistant will provide high-quality professional cleaning and laundry services to help maintain the highest possible standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the residence with a focus on maximising safety and minimising health risks for residents, visitors and staff at all times.

Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Cleaner and Laundry Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Provide a timely and efficient cleaning and laundry service that is responsive to the needs of residents and facility operations.
• Ensure that the cleaning and laundry service is conducted in a way that is safe to staff and residents and complies with Workplace Health & Safety legislation including safe use of chemicals.
• Ensure a high standard of customer service when interacting with residents, resident representatives and staff.

About you

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

• Previous experience as a cleaner and laundry assistant in an Aged Care Facility (desirable).
• Demonstrated organisation and time management skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning products and the safe handling, storage and disposal or chemicals, and use of cleaning equipment
• Good communication skills, including a caring and compassionate manner when interacting with customers and their representatives
• A commitment to the principles of Workplace Health & Safety and ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff.
• Ability to build and foster strong working relationships and work well as part of a team.

The successful applicant will be required to have the following:

• Willingness to obtain valid Police Check
• Australian/New Zealand residency or a valid working visa
