Job summary

Palm Lake Resort Hervey Bay is seeking a reliable Cleaner / Kitchen Hand to maintain the resort's cleanliness and presentation. The role is full-time, 38 hours per week across daily cleaning and assisting with meal service on Tuesday lunch and Thursday evenings.

You will clean common areas, kitchens, dining spaces, and support chefs with prep. We value pride in high cleaning standards, food safety awareness, independence, and a proactive, friendly approach in a welcoming retirement community.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen, café, or catering preferred.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safe work practices.
• Ability to manage cleaning schedule effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and high cleaning standards.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain common areas across the resort.
• Dust, vacuum, mop, and manage rubbish waste.
• Ensure hygienic toilet facilities and kitchen areas.
• Wipe surfaces, clean equipment, and replenish supplies.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation and service.
• Follow food safety guidelines and report hazards.
• Support stock rotation and deliveries; maintain dining areas.
• Keep windows, fridges, and ovens clean and sanitised.
• Ensure safe working environment for residents and visitors.
