Job summary

Queensland Department of Education – Kalbar invites applications for a Cleaner to join the school team on a Permanent Part-Time basis (0.20FTE), 15.5 hours per fortnight, with shifts on Thursdays. The successful applicant will help maintain a clean, safe, hygienic and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

You will perform cleaning and sanitising of facilities across the school, monitor supplies and safety hazards and report any issues to ensure a well‑run site.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise school facilities, including toilets, sick bays, furniture and surfaces.
• Maintain floors, windows, equipment and outdoor paved areas.
• Remove rubbish, litter, graffiti, cobwebs and debris.
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic school environment.
• Activate and disarm security systems and lock/unlock buildings as required.
• Monitor and report cleaning supply needs, safety hazards, damage and security concerns.
• Undertake other cleaning and related duties as directed by the Principal, Business Manager or supervisor.

This position is being offered in a Permanent Part-Time capacity (0.20FTE), 15.5 hours per fortnight. Hours to be completed as a split shifts on a Thursday.

Your opportunity:

• Ensure that the duties prescribed for the position are completed to an acceptable standard as determined by their supervisor, in accordance with the approved school cleaning program.
