Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking a Cleaner to help create a safe, clean and welcoming environment for residents in our Malabar-based Residential Care community. This casual role supports high cleaning standards and contributes to resident wellbeing.

You will work closely with residents, care teams and maintenance staff to complete tasks safely and efficiently, while maintaining hygiene and a positive resident experience.

Qualifications

• 2 years of cleaning experience or laundry experience
• 1-2 years in following safe work practices
• NDIS Worker screening check (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Complete daily cleaning duties across resident rooms, common areas and facilities
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection prevention
• Clean bathrooms, laundries, kitchenettes, corridors and shared living spaces
• Vacuum, mop, dust and maintain furniture, fixtures and fittings
• Ensure cleaning schedules are completed efficiently and consistently
• Monitor cleaning supplies and report stock requirements when needed
• Contribute to residents’ wellbeing through positive and caring interactions
• Maintain accurate cleaning records where required
• Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained, used safely and stored correctly
• Follow organisational policies and cleaning procedures
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workplace
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment
• Follow workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practices
• Report hazards, incidents and risks in accordance with organisational procedures

What You'll Bring

You are reliable, practical and take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

What's Required

• Minimum 2 years of previous cleaning experience or laundry experience

• 1-2 years in following safe work practices

• NDIS Worker screening check (or willingness to obtain)

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

What's Preferred

• 1- 2 years of experience working in aged care, healthcare, hospitality or similar environments

• Certificate III in Hospitality or willingness to work towards it

• Understanding of infection control and cleaning standards
