Job summary

Christ the Priest Primary School is seeking a motivated classroom teacher to deliver the standard curriculum and implement the physical education program from Prep to Grade 6 on Wednesdays in a 0.20 FTE role.

The successful applicant will collaborate with a specialist team to improve learning outcomes, support outdoor education and engage a diverse community. Catholic ethos and child safety are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to build relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Strong behaviour management practices.
• Curriculum knowledge in Health and Physical Education and ability to engage students inclusively in this area.
• Ability to administrate whole school sporting events and interschool events with risk management.

Christ the Priest Primary School is looking for a motivated classroom teacher who will also implement the physical education curriculum from Prep-Grade 6 on a Wednesday. The role may also include the administration of sporting events, school swimming programs and inter-school events.

Christ the Priest (CtP) Primary School is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic classrom teacher who is able to collaborate with others as part of a specialist team working towards improving learning outcomes for all students in their care. A passion for outdoor education and an understanding of catering to a diverse community is essential.

1. Be faith-filled with a strong commitment to the Catholic Ethos of the school and to the spiritual, emotional, social and educational wellbeing of all students
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to continue to build strong relationships with students, staff and parents
3. Strong behaviour management practices
4. Curriculum knowledge in all areas including Health and Physical Education - Movement and Physical Activity and ability to engage students in inclusive ways in this area of the curriculum.
5. Ability to administrate whole school sporting events, organise external sporting events and interschool events with strong understanding of compliance and risk management.

Special Requirements:

The successful applicant should:

• -accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is desirable.
• -be committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices
• -have read and be committed to maintaining the standards as set out in our Child Safe Code of Conduct
• -have read, and be aware of, the attached statement on the 'Principles Regarding Catholic Education' and our Privacy statement
• -hold a current VIT registration
