Job summary

Referment's Sydney team is seeking a solicitor to manage class-action matters, combining detailed legal analysis and drafting with client communication and case coordination.

You will work across the life of a matter, progressing litigation and coordinating with external counsel and stakeholders, with responsibility for advocacy and client management.

Qualifications

• Admitted as solicitor in New South Wales.
• LLB or equivalent legal qualification required.
• At least two years’ experience in class actions or broader litigation.
• Strong legal research, analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Clear, persuasive written and verbal communication.
• Experience drafting litigation documents and contributing to case strategy.
• Proficiency with legal research tools and case-management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage and progress class-action litigation from initial case development through resolution.
• Research legislation, authorities and emerging legal developments to support case strategy.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, settlement agreements and other litigation documents.
• Coordinate clearly with clients, stakeholders and external counsel throughout each matter.

Referment is working with an established Australian litigation practice that is continuing to build its class-actions capability. The firm represents individuals in complex disputes and is seeking a solicitor to help manage and advance class-action matters from its Sydney team.

You will work across the life of a matter, combining detailed legal analysis and drafting with client communication, case coordination and advocacy. The position offers substantive responsibility for progressing litigation while working alongside other solicitors, external counsel and relevant stakeholders.

The Role

• Manage and progress class-action litigation from initial case development through resolution.
• Research legislation, authorities and emerging legal developments to support case strategy.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, settlement agreements and other litigation documents.
• Coordinate clearly with clients, stakeholders and external counsel throughout each matter.

What We're Looking For
