Job summary

Suncorp Group in Sydney/Brisbane seeks a Claims Officer in our Commercial Property Liability Claims team to manage a portfolio from lodgement to settlement. You’ll own claims, progress efficiently, review information, assess policy response and liability, and communicate with customers, brokers and legal representatives throughout the process.

You’ll negotiate settlements and identify fair, cost-effective outcomes while maintaining accurate records to meet compliance, KPIs and SLAs.

Qualifications

• End-to-end claims management experience or capability.
• Experience in an insurance claims environment, especially property liability.
• Ability to assess information, make decisions and progress claims to resolution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with customers and stakeholders.
• Resilience and the ability to manage challenging conversations and priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work quickly while maintaining quality.
• Confidence with technology and learning new systems.

Claims Officer – Commercial Property Liability Claims

This is a permanent full-time role open to applicants based in Brisbane and Sydney. Join Suncorp as a Claims Officer in our Commercial Property Liability Claims team, where you’ll manage your own portfolio of claims from lodgement through to settlement.

What You’ll Do

• Manage a portfolio of commercial property liability claims from lodgement through to settlement
• Take ownership of your claims and ensure they are progressed efficiently and within required timeframes
• Review claim information, reports and supporting documentation to determine appropriate next steps
• Assess policy response and liability and make fair, informed decisions
• Communicate with customers, brokers, legal representatives and other stakeholders throughout the claims process
• Negotiate settlements and identify opportunities to deliver fair and cost-effective claim outcomes
• Manage customer concerns and challenging conversations with empathy and professionalism
• Maintain accurate claim records and ensure all claims are managed in line with compliance requirements, KPIs and SLAs

What You’ll Bring

• End-to-end claims management experience, with the ability to manage a portfolio of claims through to settlement or finalisation
• Experience in an insurance claims environment, ideally across property liability, commercial claims or a similar claims discipline
• Experience assessing claims, reviewing information and reports, making decisions and progressing claims through to resolution
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the confidence to make decisions and manage outcomes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and stakeholders
• Resilience and the ability to manage challenging conversations and competing priorities
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly while maintaining quality
• Confidence using technology and learning new systems and processes
• A customer-focused approach and the ability to balance customer needs with sound claims decisions
