Job summary

Strathfield Council is seeking a motivated Civil Works Team Member to assist with construction, maintenance and repair of roads, footpaths and drainage. You will operate plant and equipment, work with the Civil Works team to deliver high-quality maintenance services, and promote safe work practices.

The role requires concreting and general labouring experience, a current MR licence, and a CIC White Card. This permanent, full-time position offers an Agile Work Policy and a 35-hour week.

Qualifications

• Basic schooling up to Year 12 and/or TAFE certs.
• Experience in concreting and general labouring tasks.
• Certificate for General Construction Induction (CIC – White Card) NSW.
• Valid MR driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out construction, maintenance and repairs to roads, footpaths, drainage and other civil infrastructure.
• Complete daily maintenance tasks to required quality standards.
• Operate plant and equipment safely in accordance with procedures.
• Identify and report hazards, defects and faults.
• Coordinate workloads with team members to meet deadlines.
• Provide courteous, professional assistance to residents and the public.
• Undertake additional civil works duties as directed by the Team Leader.
