Job summary

Whitsunday Regional Council is seeking a Civil Construction Worker to undertake labouring duties related to roads and drainage within the Infrastructure Services directorate. You will operate plant and trucks, perform road maintenance, drainage works and concrete tasks, and support traffic management activities.

The role requires a valid MR/HR/HC licence (or willingness to obtain), White Card, and traffic control/management certifications.

Qualifications

• MR/HR/HC Driver’s licence or willingness to obtain
• White Card (General Construction Safety Induction)
• Traffic Control certification or willingness to obtain
• Traffic Management certification or willingness to obtain
• Agriculture Chemical Distribution & Control certification or willingness to obtain
• First aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and trucks in line with manufacturer requirements and WHS legislation
• Work effectively with limited supervision
• Carry out general labouring duties including vegetation control, road maintenance and drainage construction, concrete works, and small plant operation
• Implement traffic management requirements including traffic guidance schemes and traffic management plans
