Job summary

Hepburn Shire Council is seeking a Led Hands - Civil Works expert to head crews across Creswick and district, delivering road, drainage and footpath works in a hands-on role. You’ll supervise daily activities, ensure safety compliance, and provide practical direction to team members and contractors.

Your motor grader specialization and civil construction experience will help you lead quality worksites, manage resources, and coordinate across multiple sites within Hepburn Shire.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent trade qualification.
• Experience leading civil maintenance or construction projects.
• Specialist competence operating a motor grader.
• Current MR Driver Licence (or higher) and White Card.
• Traffic management qualifications.
• National Criminal History Check completed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in road, drainage, roadside, footpath and related civil works.
• Coordinate daily activities, plant, labour, materials and worksite controls.
• Provide direction and coaching to employees and contractors.
• Establish and maintain safe worksites with SWMS and traffic management controls.
• Monitor quality and progress and address day-to-day operational issues.
• Operate motor grader and other civil plant as required.
