Job summary

GenusPlus Group is seeking a skilled Civil Supervisor for the Baranduda BESS project near Wodonga, Victoria. You will supervise civil works, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance on site.

Working a 2:1 roster with up to 12-hour days, you’ll partner with project management, engineering and site teams to deliver a major energy storage facility while maintaining strong safety practices and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• The role requires 3+ years in civil construction or infrastructure.
• Proven supervisory experience and ability to lead crews and subcontractors.
• Ability to read civil drawings, specs and schedules.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and site documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee civil works including earthworks, drainage, foundations and concrete construction.
• Coordinate daily fronts, labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to meet milestones.
• Interpret drawings and construction methodologies to ensure compliance.
• Lead pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and planning.
• Ensure safety procedures, SWMS, permits and environmental controls.
• Monitor workmanship, inspections, testing and QA documentation.
• Track progress, site records and report delays or risks.
• Coordinate interfaces with electrical/HV teams and sequencing.
• Resolve site issues with project management and engineering teams.
• Promote safety culture and support team performance.

The Project
The Baranduda Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a 400MW energy storage project near Wodonga, Victoria, comprising a standalone BESS facility and associated infrastructure connecting to the Wodonga Terminal Station.
Our scope includes delivery of the full Balance of Plant package, encompassing civil, electrical and HV infrastructure, substation and grid connection works, battery integration, testing and commissioning through to operational handover.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to oversee civil construction activities across the project. Working closely with project management, engineering and site teams, you will coordinate daily works, supervise crews and subcontractors, and ensure construction activities meet safety, quality, programme and environmental requirements.
Location, Roster and Hours

• Site-based near Wodonga, Victoria.
• 2 weeks on, 1 week off, working up to 12 hours per day.
• Roster flexibility may be considered depending on the successful candidate.
• Applications are welcomed from candidates that are Victoria based.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise civil works, including earthworks, excavation, trenching, drainage, access roads, foundations and concrete construction.
• Coordinate daily work fronts, labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to meet project milestones.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and construction methodologies to ensure works meet project requirements.
• Lead pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and daily work planning.
• Ensure compliance with approved safety procedures, SWMS, permits and environmental controls.
• Monitor workmanship and coordinate inspections, testing and quality documentation.
• Track progress, maintain site records and report delays, risks and resource requirements.
• Coordinate with electrical and HV teams to manage construction interfaces and work sequencing.
• Resolve site issues in consultation with project management and engineering teams.
• Promote a positive safety culture and support team performance.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ industry experience in civil construction or infrastructure.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar supervisory role.
• Experience coordinating civil construction crews and subcontractors.
• Ability to interpret civil drawings, specifications and construction schedules.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Current Australian C Class driver’s licence.
• Construction Induction Card / White Card.
• Current Australian work rights.
