Sabre Engineering Services in Moranbah, Queensland, is seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to lead a portfolio of civil and infrastructure projects, with a focus on dams, levees, earthworks and site infrastructure.

Join a hands-on, team-based delivery environment to manage scope, cost, schedule and quality from development through to close-out, including Front End Loading, governance and contractor management. 4/3 roster on site, 48 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Strong Civil or Infrastructure Project Management experience.
• Recent Queensland Civil Project Management experience.
• Experience in mining, heavy industry or major infrastructure environments.

Civil Project Manager | Mining Infrastructure | Moranbah
Sabre Engineering Services is seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to support the delivery of a high priority portfolio of civil and infrastructure projects in Moranbah.
The project portfolio is primarily civil in nature, with a strong focus over the next six months on dams, levees, sediment controls, earthworks, environmental structures and associated infrastructure. The broader pipeline may also include buildings, workshops and supporting site infrastructure.
This is a hands on, team based Project Management role for someone who can take accountability for project outcomes, work effectively within an established delivery team and progress projects from development and Front End Loading through governance, execution and close out.

The Role

• Nominal 4/3 roster working 48 hours per week on site in Moranbah
• Manage civil and infrastructure projects from development through to execution and close out
• Progress projects through Front End Loading, project gates and governance requirements
• Deliver dams, levees, sediment controls, earthworks and associated civil infrastructure
• Manage project scope, cost, schedule, risk and quality
• Develop scopes of work, execution strategies, work packages and delivery plans
• Manage contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary stakeholders
• Support tendering, contract negotiations and commercial outcomes
• Manage commercial disputes, variations and contractor performance where required
• Maintain strong QA/QC throughout construction delivery
• Oversee construction activities and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to specification
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, commitments and cost performance
• Coordinate closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, environment and other site functions
• Work effectively within functional and panel based delivery models
• Provide clear project reporting, risk management and progress updates
• Support changing project priorities where additional flexibility beyond the nominal roster or hours may be required

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong Civil or Infrastructure Project Management experience
• Recent Queensland Civil Project Management experience
• Proven experience within mining, heavy industry or major infrastructure environments
• A strong background in either Front End Loading or execution and construction management, ideally with exposure across both
• Experience delivering earthworks, dams, levees, drainage, sediment controls or similar civil infrastructure
• Strong cost control, scope management and commercial capability
• Experience with tender evaluations, contract negotiations and commercial dispute resolution
• Strong understanding of QA/QC and construction management
• Experience managing contractors and project work packages
• Experience working within functional, panel or matrix style delivery models highly regarded
• Environmental compliance experience or exposure, including IECA, mine affected water, rehabilitation or related environmental works
• Strong analytical and problem solving capability
• The ability to communicate plans, risks and priorities clearly
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work across multiple site functions
• Relevant engineering, construction or project management qualifications advantageous
• Experience working within structured project governance frameworks highly regarded

This is not a direct leadership position managing a large internal team.
It is a team based Project Management role where you will be accountable for project outcomes, contractor performance and delivery across your assigned portfolio.
We need someone who is comfortable getting into the detail, taking ownership and driving projects forward without waiting to be directed.
The right person will be commercially aware, strong on cost and scope control, confident managing construction delivery and able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
