Job summary

Willoughby City Council in Willoughby, NSW, is seeking an experienced Civil Labourer to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will assist with construction, repair and maintenance of roads, footpaths, drainage and other civil infrastructure assets to serve the community.

You will work on traffic devices, kerb and gutter, formwork and concrete finishing, coordinating labour, plant and materials, while maintaining WHS standards and professional communication with residents and contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil construction and/or civil maintenance.
• Ability to construct formwork and finish concrete.
• Current White Card or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
• Good physical fitness and ability to undertake manual labour.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repair and maintenance of roads, footpaths, drainage systems, kerbs, traffic devices and Council infrastructure.
• Construct formwork and complete concrete finishing works.
• Coordinate labour, plant and materials to complete allocated works.
• Set up and maintain traffic and pedestrian control around work sites.
• Operate trucks and plant equipment where licensed and trained.
• Liaise professionally with residents, contractors and stakeholders.
• Comply with all WHS requirements and PPE standards.
• Assist other Council units as required and undertake overtime when necessary.
• Demonstrated experience in civil construction and/or civil maintenance.
• Ability to construct formwork and finish concrete.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil labourer to join our team in Willoughby. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of Council infrastructure that supports the daily needs of our community.

You will be involved in roads, footpaths, kerb and gutter, stormwater drainage systems, traffic devices and other civil infrastructure assets.
