Job summary

J & G Asphalt & Civil Contractors Pty Ltd is seeking a hands-on civil construction professional based in Blacktown. You will work on roads, footpaths, kerb and gutter, and drainage, coordinating labour and equipment to deliver council projects.

The role emphasizes formwork, concrete finishing, traffic management, and stakeholder liaison, with a requirement for a current White Card and a valid Class C license.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in civil construction and/or civil maintenance.
• Ability to construct formwork and finish concrete.
• Good physical fitness and ability to undertake manual labour.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current Class C Driver License.
• Current White Card or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
• VOCS machinery tickets highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repair and maintenance of roads, footpaths, drainage systems, kerbs, traffic devices and Council infrastructure.
• Construct formwork and complete concrete finishing works.
• Coordinate labour, plant and materials to complete allocated works.
• Set up and maintain traffic and pedestrian control around work sites.
• Operate trucks and plant equipment where licensed and trained.
• Liaise professionally with residents, contractors and stakeholders.
• Comply with WHS requirements and PPE standards.
• Assist other Council units as required and undertake overtime when necessary.

In this hands‑on role, you will be responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of but not limited to Council infrastructure that supports the daily needs of our community.
