Job summary

Lismore City Council in New South Wales is seeking a Planning and Delivery Engineer to lead civil infrastructure projects across Waste facilities. In the Capital and Strategic Works team you will plan, design, coordinate and deliver complex projects, ensuring timeliness, budget adherence and compliance with engineering and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related field.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering are desirable.
• Membership of an appropriate professional institute.
• Current Class C Drivers Licence.
• General Construction Induction Card (White card).
• Demonstrated experience in civil engineering, infrastructure planning and project delivery within a local government or similar environment.
• Competence in using relevant engineering, project management and mapping software.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver civil infrastructure projects from concept development and feasibility through to construction, commissioning and project close out.
• Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with Council Standards, legislation, engineering codes, environmental requirements and policies.
• Develop, manage and maintain project plans, schedules and delivery programs.
• Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety, environmental, legislative and funding requirements.
• Coordinate project meetings, approvals, governance and reporting with clear progress updates.
• Identify, analyse and resolve technical, operational and delivery challenges with practical engineering solutions.
• Contribute to sustainable, safe and resilient infrastructure meeting community needs and Council objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, government agencies and community representatives.
