Job summary

Noosa Shire Council is seeking a Civil Field Worker to join the Civil and Asset Operations team at Pomona Depot. In this hands-on role you will undertake civil construction and maintenance activities across roads, drainage and roadside infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable assets for the Noosa community.

You'll possess a Certificate II in Civil Construction or related and a current C Class licence, with MR licence desirable, and contribute to a high-performing team while complying with safety

Qualifications

• Experience in civil construction, maintenance, landscaping or related field-based activities.
• Ability to safely use and operate construction tools, plant and machinery.
• Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practices.
• Ability to participate in annual health monitoring associated with exposure to respirable crystalline silica (RCS).
• Ability to participate in respiratory protective equipment (RPE) fit testing, where required.
• Physical fitness for manual labour, including lifting, bending and climbing.
• Ability to work under direction and within agreed timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Undertake civil construction and maintenance activities, including roads, drainage, concreting, kerb and channel works, bridges and roadside infrastructure.
• Operate relevant tools, plant and equipment safely and report maintenance issues as required.
• Support the delivery of quality maintenance and operational services while working collaboratively within a team environment.
• Provide assistance during emergency response activities, including floods, bushfires and other natural disasters when required.
