Job summary

Sunshine Coast Council in Caloundra, Queensland is seeking a Civil Field Leader to provide on-site leadership for capital works delivery. You will lead civil crews, ensure safety, quality and environmental standards, and coordinate day-to-day construction activities with the Supervisor - Civil.

Ideal candidates will show strong leadership, planning and communication skills, ability to read design drawings and manage plant and resources, and a solid commitment to workplace safety and project

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and organise teams.
• Experience delivering civil construction/rehabilitation projects (roads, drainage, bridges, cycleways).
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and maintain detail.
• Plan reading and survey set-out skills.
• Excellent written/verbal communication; proficient with MS Office and mobile tech.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise civil construction crews
• Plan daily work schedules, resource and plant allocation
• Support workforce planning and project delivery activities
• Read and interpret design drawings, specifications and survey set-out information
• Monitor site safety, environmental and quality management requirements
• Coordinate plant, equipment and material requirements
• Liaise with contractors, stakeholders and operational teams
• Support emergency response activities when required
