Job summary

Lindores Personnel Pty Ltd in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our team. The role focuses on preparing technical drawings and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs) to support civil, construction and infrastructure projects.

You will work with engineers and project managers to develop plans for lane closures, signage layouts and vehicle movement plans, while ensuring compliance with AGTTM, AS 1742.3 and local authorities.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil Construction Design, Engineering Drafting or equivalent; or 3–5 years of relevant drafting experience.
• Experience preparing technical drawings and plans.
• Understanding of civil construction and traffic management requirements.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good CAD skills.
• Experience with RapidPlan, Invarion or similar drafting/design software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop technical civil drawings and draft Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs) for review and approval.
• Develop plans for lane closures, detours, signage layouts, taper and buffer zones, TMA placement, pedestrian and cyclist management, construction staging and diversion routes.
• Prepare drawings and documentation in accordance with AGTTM, AS 1742.3, QGTTM and relevant Queensland authority requirements.
• Undertake site inspections, assessments and measurements to support accurate, site-specific drawings.
• Assist with risk assessments and identification of traffic and site hazards.
• Use RapidPlan, Invarion or similar drafting/design software to prepare technical drawings, vehicle movement plans and signage layouts.
• Maintain drawing revisions, document control and accurate project records.
• Assist with road authority and council permits and approval documentation.
• Liaise with engineers, Traffic Management Designers, project managers, clients, operations teams and relevant authorities.
• Review and amend drawings and plans as project scopes, staging and site conditions change.

About you

• A Diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil Construction Design, Engineering Drafting or another relevant discipline; or 3–5 years of relevant work experience as a Civil Engineering Draftsperson or in a closely related civil/traffic management drafting role
• Experience preparing technical drawings and plans
• Understanding of civil construction and traffic management requirements
• Strong attention to detail
• Good computer-aided drafting skills
• Experience with RapidPlan, Invarion or similar drafting/design software
