Job summary

United Rentals in Sydney is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to design, test, and implement trench safety and propping solutions for diverse civil projects. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver safe, compliant and cost-effective temporary works solutions on site.

The role requires 3–5 years of civil engineering experience, a qualification in civil/structural engineering, and proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' civil engineering experience, focused on temporary works.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and temp works documentation.
• Proficient with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit).
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design trench safety and propping systems per Australian Standards (AS 4744, AS 1657).
• Visit sites, assess requirements, and deliver tailored temporary works solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Provide technical support to sales and operations teams.
• Assist with testing, certifications and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with industry trends and new technologies.
• Prepare reports, proposals and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
