Job summary

RECS Group Australia (Grassit) invites a Civil Engineer to join their Young, NSW team. The role blends design with hands-on field operations, including site surveys, data reduction, AutoCAD drawing production, and use of Topcon/Trimble equipment.

You will oversee road and drainage design, provide cost estimates, and liaise with clients across multiple projects. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and at least 1 year of relevant experience, with strong survey technique

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of land and construction survey/design.
• Competence in survey equipment (Topcon) and related software.
• CAD ability (AutoCAD or similar) to produce clear drawings.
• Knowledge of 3D machine control systems (Topcon & Trimble).
• Project engineering/management experience is beneficial but not mandatory.

Job description

RECS Group Australia (Grassit) are a family owned and operated civil construction and Environmental rehabilitation contractor based in Young NSW, with sustainable contracts over NSW and increasing project contracts requiring ongoing survey services.

The position

We are looking for a full-time Civil Engineer to work on our increasing workload across several projects. You will take responsibility for site engineering supervision, road and drainage infrastructure design, cost estimation, and client liaison. This role blends design and hands-on field operations, including executing site surveys, reducing raw field data, producing AutoCAD drawings, and utilizing Topcon survey equipment and 3D machine control systems (Topcon and Trimble).

Duties/Tasks

• Prepare project calculations and costings
• Assist with tendering for projects, quantity surveying & estimating
• Liaise with the clients & other parties regarding job details and requirements
• Complete field surveys required efficiently & professionally
• Reduction of raw field data & preparation of necessary plans & reports for any given task
• Site engineering supervision and management
• Design of general road, drainage and development infrastructure.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of land and construction survey / design
• Comprehensive understanding of best practice survey techniques and be thoroughly competent in the use of survey equipment (Topcon) and software systems
• CAD ability (AutoCAD or similar) and able to produce clear, easy to read drawings
• Knowledge of 3D machine control systems (Topcon & Trimble)
• Additional Previous experience in Project Engineering / Project management (beneficial, but not mandatory)
