Job summary

United Rentals Australia/New Zealand is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to design, test, and implement trench safety and propping solutions for Australian civil projects. The role focuses on temporary works, compliance with AS standards, and collaboration with clients and internal teams.

You will contribute to safe, cost-effective designs, perform site visits, and support sales and operations while staying current with industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications

• Advanced Diploma or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 3–5 years of civil engineering experience, ideally with temporary works.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and related documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop trench safety and propping systems per Australian Standards (AS 4744, AS 1657).
• Conduct site visits and assess project requirements with clients to deliver tailored temporary works solutions.
• Ensure all designs comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Provide technical support to sales and operations teams.
• Assist with product testing, certifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
