Job summary

City Development on the Gold Coast is seeking motivated Civil Engineers to join the Engineering and Landscape Assessment team. You will undertake assessments and provide expert technical advice across civil design, flooding, stormwater, roads, telecommunication and utilities, with support from Senior Engineers.

You’ll grow professionally through mentoring and diverse projects, shaping infrastructure outcomes for the City.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent knowledge.
• Experience in engineering design, assessment, or development engineering.
• Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards and planning legislation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn, be mentored, and grow within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake engineering assessments of development applications across civil disciplines.
• Deliver practical, solution-focused engineering advice aligned with legislation and standards.
• Prepare technical memorandums and recommendations for decision-making.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, planners, applicants and consultants.
• Participate in pre-lodgement meetings, site inspections and technical discussions.
• Mentor Graduates and Student Engineers and promote a collaborative environment.
• Support flexible working arrangements to balance work and life commitments.
