Job summary

D&J's Civil Construction on the Gold Coast is seeking a Civil Engineer with some industry experience to join our team. You will work closely with Project Managers and site crews on civil construction and subdivision projects across South East Queensland.

This is an ideal step for someone who has gained on-site experience and wants greater responsibility, with opportunities to develop technical and leadership skills in a growing company.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in civil construction
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Current White Card and Australian working rights
• Current Driver's Licence

Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of civil construction projects
• Coordinate with supervisors, subcontractors and site crews
• Review drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Assist with QA, ITPs, inspections and NCRs
• Maintain daily diaries and site records
• Assist with project cost tracking and progress claims
• Quantity take-offs and material ordering
• Monitor progress, quality and compliance
• Coordinate deliveries and site activities
• Attend site meetings and toolbox talks
• Assist with variations, RFIs and general administration
• Ensure works are completed safely and to requirements

The Role

Working closely with our Project Managers, Construction Managers and site crews, you will be involved in the day-to-day delivery of civil construction and subdivision projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the planning and delivery of civil construction projects
• Working closely with supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and site crews
• Reviewing construction drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Assisting with QA, ITPs, inspections and NCRs
• Preparing and maintaining daily diaries and site records
• Assisting with project cost tracking and progress claims
• Quantities, take-offs and material ordering
• Monitoring project progress, quality and compliance
• Coordinating deliveries, subcontractors and site activities
• Attending site meetings and toolbox meetings
• Assisting with variations, RFIs and general project administration
• Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements

About You

We are looking for someone who has some experience in civil construction and is keen to continue building their career in the industry.

You will ideally have:

• A Civil Engineering degree or relevant qualification
• 2+ years' experience in civil construction or a similar role
• Experience working on active construction sites
• Good understanding of civil construction practices
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Good attention to detail
• A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved on site
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Australian working rights
• Current Driver's Licence
• White Card

Experience in subdivisions, bulk earthworks, stormwater, sewer, watermain or general civil infrastructure will be highly regarded.
