Vyasa Group Pty Ltd, trading as Ether Homes, a Sydney-based residential construction specialist, seeks a Civil Engineering Draftsperson to prepare and modify detailed civil and site drawings for bespoke homes and knockdown-rebuild projects. The role supports planning, development approvals, construction, and project coordination with strict adherence to standards.

The successful candidate will have a civil engineering diploma or higher, at least one year of related drafting experience, and

Qualifications

• Civil engineering diploma or higher qualification.
• At least one year of full-time work experience in a related drafting or construction design field.
• Sound understanding of residential construction documentation, site plans and civil drafting principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil, site and construction drawings, including layouts, mark-ups and preliminary set-outs using AutoCAD and relevant drafting software.
• Review architectural, engineering and project documentation and incorporate relevant information into civil and site drawings.
• Interpret project requirements, plans, specifications and work instructions and translate them into accurate technical drawings.
• Prepare drawings and documentation required to support planning, development approval, construction and project coordination activities.
• Collect, review and analyse project information, site measurements and other technical data required for accurate drafting.
• Carry out drafting-related calculations and applying relevant dimensions, levels, quantities and set-out information to drawings.
• Assist with estimates of materials and quantities where required and ensuring drawings accurately reflect project specifications and scope.
• Liaise with project managers, builders, architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractors to clarify drafting requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness and consistency before issue to project stakeholders.
• Ensure drawings and technical documentation comply with applicable building requirements, engineering requirements, Australian Standards and relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Attend construction sites when required to collect information, verify site conditions and confirm the accuracy of drawings and proposed works.
• Support the construction team by responding to drawing queries, revisions and site-related technical issues.
• Update and maintain drawing registers, revisions and project documentation in accordance with business procedures.
