Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a Civil Construction Trainee to join our on-site Civil Operations Team in Rockhampton. You will perform general labouring tasks, assist with pipe laying and concreting, and learn to operate small machines under supervision.

A 12-month nominal study term will lead to a Certificate II in Civil Construction. This role is ideal for school leavers or individuals seeking a career pivot into civil works, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and initiative.

Qualifications

• Willing to complete a Certificate II in Civil Construction over a 12-month term.
• Aged 15 years or older and not at school.
• Hold a C Class Driver Licence (Minimum Provisional).
• Able to meet citizen, residency, and visa requirements to undertake a traineeship.
• Able to complete a satisfactory Police History Check.

Responsibilities

• Undertake general labouring duties in Civil Construction.
• Assist with pipe laying and concreting.
• Operate and maintain small machines and hand tools.
• Work in diverse teams across the Rockhampton region.
