Job summary

RRETS is seeking a Civil Works Supervisor/Inspector (Road works) to oversee road construction projects in North West Queensland. The role focuses on supervision, data collection, and compliance with RMPC/DRFA guidelines, with a flexible FIFO/DIDO roster and remote-area site requirements.

The position is offered on ABN contract terms, with travel to remote sites and responsibility for recording, reporting, and advising on pre-construction to maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in supervision/surveillance of road construction, unsealed roads, bitumen and asphalt, surfacing, drainage structures.
• Knowledge of RMPC and DRFA guidelines.
• Understanding of road construction standards.
• Willingness to live and work in remote areas.
• Willingness to travel long distances.
• Experience collecting road defect data with digital devices.
• Flexible FIFO/DIDO roster.
• Ability to provide technical advice for pre-construction, construction and maintenance.
• Ability to audit contractor work for compliance with approved scope and standards.
• Experience monitoring and reporting DRFA/construction/maintenance projects.
• Detail-oriented with thorough record-keeping.
• Proficient in MS Windows, Word, Excel, and email/file management.
• Familiarity with Reflect, Recover, RADAR or similar apps.

RRETS is seeking applications from the Civil Works Supervisor/Inspector (Road works) that meet the below criteria. The position is based in North West Queensland. We offer competitive rates on ABN contract.

Desirable skills and experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the supervision and/or surveillance of road construction, unsealed roads, bitumen and asphalt, surfacing, drainage structures.
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of RMPC and DRFA guidelines
• Thorough understanding of technical standard about road construction
• Ability to live and work in remote areas
• Ability to travel longer distances
• Ability to collect road defect data using digital devices, and straight edge or similar
• Ability to work flexible FIFO or DIDO roster
• Ability to provide technical advice concerning pre-construction, construction and maintenance
• Ability to conduct and/or manage audits of contractors work and ensure compliance related to approved scope, and relevant standards
• Monitor and report delivery of DRFA/Construction/Maintenance projects
• Prepare and maintain detailed records.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, file management and email
• Ability to use apps such as Reflect, Recover, RADAR or similar
