Job summary

Hinchinbrook Shire Council is hiring a Civil Construction Labourer to support infrastructure projects across the region. The role involves physically demanding labour across construction and maintenance, with a focus on safety and adherence to industry standards.

Ideal candidates will have road maintenance or civil construction experience, a current C Class licence, White Card, and the ability to work in varied conditions. A team player with good communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in road maintenance or civil construction.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence or higher.
• Construction White Card (industry safety induction).
• Demonstrated physical fitness for manual labour in varying conditions.
• Ability to follow directions and work both independently and in a team.
• Commitment to safe work practices and WHS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labour across civil construction and maintenance tasks (bitumen, asphalt, concreting, drainage, sewerage, water reticulation, gardening).
• Operate hand-held power tools and light machinery safely per council procedures.
• Assist in construction and maintenance following approved plans and safety documentation.
• Work independently or as part of a team with a focus on collaboration and quality.
