Job summary

Whitsunday Regional Council is seeking a Civil Construction Worker to provide labouring services for roads and drainage at Proserpine. The role requires operating plant and trucks, performing general labouring tasks, and implementing traffic management plans.

Salary is in the AU$71,971–AU$73,543 range per annum with a 9 day fortnight and salary sacrifice options. The position offers health and wellbeing benefits and is based in Proserpine, Queensland.

Qualifications

• Current MR/HR/HC driver’s licence or willing to obtain
• White card (General Construction Safety Induction)
• Traffic Control certification or willingness to obtain
• Traffic Management Implementation certification or willingness to obtain
• Agriculture Chemical Distribution and Control certification or willingness to obtain
• Provide First aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and trucks in accordance with manufacturer requirements and WHS legislation
• Work effectively with limited supervision
• Carry out general labouring duties including vegetation control, road maintenance and drainage construction
• Implement traffic management requirements and plans

An exciting opportunity exists within our Infrastructure Services directorate for a Civil Construction Worker. In this role, you will be responsible for providing labouring duties associated with roads and drainage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate plant and trucks in accordance with manufacturer requirements and Workplace Health and Safety legislation
• Work effectively and productively with limited supervision
• Carry out general labouring duties, including vegetation control, road maintenance and construction drainage activities, concrete works, and small plant operation
• Implement traffic management requirements (including traffic guidance schemes and traffic management plans)

Your skills and experience

• Class MR or HR/HC Driver’s licence (or willingness to obtain)
• General Construction Safety Induction (White card)
